Dhe Scheren company was founded in 1938 by Heinrich Scheren as a trucking company. In the 1950s, the company mainly operated food distribution with 15 local trucks and a warehouse. In the mid-1960s, warehouses were built on the current site at Karweg 10. With the early death of Heinrich Scheren in 1969, his first son Dieter Scheren took over the management of the company. At the beginning of the 1980s, another central warehouse with 16,000^m2 was built in Düsseldorf-Reisholz: Paul-Thomas-Straße 52. In 1987, Jörg Scheren, Dieter’s brother, was added to the management team. At the beginning of the 1990s, a third warehouse with a further 13,000^m2 was completed at the Kappeler Straße 126 site. At this time, the Karweg 10 site was also extensively converted into a professional hazardous materials warehouse and the Paul-Thomas-Straße 48 business park was built. The collaboration with JOTA Warehouse IT Solutions GmbH, with whom the warehouse management system CASSIS was developed in close cooperation, also began at this time. Dirk Scheren, Dieter’s son, also joined the management team in the 1990s. In 2003, the Am Trippelsberg 110 site with 12,000^m2 was put into operation. In 2010, the warehouse at Am Trippelsberg 110 was fully equipped with automated storage and retrieval machines. Mark Scheren, Jörg Scheren’s son, has been a member of the management team since 2012 and has played a key role in shaping the company’s focus on hazardous materials. Together with his brother Björn Scheren, he works on the continuous improvement of existing processes and quality indicators.
